Hover over the title of each page and you\u2019ll see an option called Trash. Clicking \u201cTrash\u201d will delete the page.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gu-block gu-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.georgetown.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/trash-page-1024x547.png\" alt=\"View of Pages admin menu with a red box outlining &quot;Pages&quot; in the sidebar and a red box outling the &quot;Trash&quot; option under an example page.\" class=\"wp-image-1895\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">A \u201c1 page moved to Trash\u201d message will appear, confirming the page has been deleted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gu-block gu-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.georgetown.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/trash-confirmation-1024x395.png\" alt=\"1 Page moved to trash message.\" class=\"wp-image-1896\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">You can delete Posts using the same process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading body-text-heading\" id=\"delete-posts-or-pages-from-the-editing-space\">Delete Posts or Pages from the Editing Space<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">Alternatively, a post or page can be deleted from the editing space in WordPress. Select the page or post you wish to delete and click the \u201cEdit\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gu-block gu-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.georgetown.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/edit-page-1024x447.png\" alt=\"View of Pages admin menu with a red box outling to the &quot;Edit&quot; option under a sample page\" class=\"wp-image-1897\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">Once in the editor, click the \u201cMove to Trash\u201d option underlined in red within the publishing box on the right side of the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gu-block gu-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.georgetown.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/to-trash.png\" alt=\"View of publishing box with a red box outlining &quot;Move to trash&quot; option\" class=\"wp-image-1898\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">Once the page or post is deleted, you will be redirected to the \u201cAll Pages\u201d page and a confirmation message like this will appear again once you leave the site.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gu-block gu-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.georgetown.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/trash-confirmation-1024x395.png\" alt=\"1 Page moved to trash message.\" class=\"wp-image-1896\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">Posts and Pages will remain in the Trash for 30 days or until they are recovered or permanently deleted manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading body-text-heading\" id=\"permanently-delete-posts-or-pages\">Permanently Delete Posts or Pages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">To&nbsp;<strong>permanently<\/strong>&nbsp;delete a page\/post, locate the respective trash folder. Here, hovering over the title of a post\/page will reveal options to \u201cRestore\u201d or \u201cDelete Permanently\u201d. This makes it easy to recover previously deleted pages. WordPress will hold deleted pages and posts in the Trash section for 30 days. If an item has been permanently deleted, either manually from the Trash or automatically after the 30 days, it cannot be restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">To recover a page or post, go to the post or page Trash folder. Posts and pages both have separate Trash folders. Once in the trash folder, hovering over the title of a post\/page will reveal options to \u201cRestore\u201d or \u201cDelete Permanently\u201d.
