They can be created by using data from GU360 (faculty) or manually (staff, students, affiliates). Once profiles have been created, they can be displayed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.georgetown.edu\/1789-documentation\/block-catalog\/supportive\/people-profiles\/\">People Profiles<\/a> block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading body-text-heading\" id=\"create-profile\">Creating a Profile<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\"><strong>To create a profile<\/strong>, navigate to Profiles &gt; Add New from your dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading body-text-heading\">For Profiles with a GU Net ID<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">Enter the Net ID of the person in the Georgetown Net ID field. If the person is not in GU360, you&#8217;ll need to manually enter their information. All profiles must have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list wp-block-list list list-unordered\">\n<li>A first and last name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least one title<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An image<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">On the right side of the screen, you&#8217;ll see options to add the profile to a Profile group. However, there are certain conditions that need to be met in order to have the name be linked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list wp-block-list list list-unordered\">\n<li>No bio and no website, the name won&#8217;t link to anything<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A bio and no website, the name will automatically link to the bio on-site<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No bio but there is a website, it&#8217;ll automatically link off-site<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Both a bio and a website, you will be asked to choose where you want the name link to go<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph body-text\">To add a bio and\/or a website, edit the Profile and add that information in the appropriate fields.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Profiles can show a variety of information about someone in the Georgetown Community.
