In this release, we’ve included two new 1789 patterns for pages only – one in the Hero and Intro category and one in the Promotional Category. We will need to turn on patterns for your site if you want to use them (if you have not already turned on patterns). Please send a message to webservices@georgetown.edu and let us know the URLs of the 1789 sites you want to use them on. If you have already turned on patterns for your site, you should be able to add them immediately.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once they are enabled, you will access them via the Patterns<\/strong> section of the block inserter (the blue plus sign in the upper-left corner) \"blue. Note: You will see the following patterns in that section that are now functional – Featured Stories Carousel, Split hero, Image and Text Carousel, Vertical Video Testimonial, <\/em>Ambient Video Hero (requires Visual Identity authorized video) Image Carousel Hero, Section Heading, Expandable Card Collection, Image Carousel, and Interactive Content Pane.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Patterns are made up of several blocks nested together. To work with patterns, we recommend opening up the document overview (the three horizontal lines button in the upper-left corner). This will show you the pattern, and you can expand it to show all of its sub-blocks. We also advise you to open the inspector panel.<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. [New Pattern<\/strong>] Featured Stories Carousel: We added a new pattern <\/em>that allows you to show a collection of images next to a collection of featured News Stories. There is also an optional Section Heading, paragraph, and Link CTA that sits above the carousel. This mimics the Featured Stories Carousel developed for the main Georgetown site. You must have at least one image and three selected News Stories.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    This pattern should only be used on the Homepage and Landing pages for the best presentation (Posts, Post Filter, Parent-Child, and Chaptered are not supported).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Left Side: Contains a Linkable Title, Eyebrow text, and image slides. You must have at least one image. You can have one or more images. To add more slides, please use the add slide button.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Right Side: A content area that contains 3 or more story blocks, populated by the Selected Posts block. To update the selected posts, click on the Secondary Features block and open the inspector panel. You can select from the list of posts shown in the sidebar. To see, update or reorder the selected posts, scroll down past the<\/p>\n\n\n
