From November 19-23, 2014, several CCT students, faculty and alumni attended and presented papers at the annual conference of the National Communication Association in Chicago, Illinois.<\/p>\n

Current CCT students Yinan (Elaine) Cai and Tianyi Cheng were in attendance, as were current faculty members Professor Jeanine Turner and Professor Kimberly Meltzer.<\/p>\n

Professor Turner<\/a> presented her co-authored paper, “Residents Reflect on Interaction: The Development and Assessment of a Blog to Study Doctor and Patient Interaction<\/a>,” to the Health Communication division. Professor Meltzer<\/a> presented her paper, “Journalistic Concern about Uncivil Political Talk in Digital News Media: Responsibility, Credibility and Academic Influence<\/a>,” to the Political Communication division on a panel with CCT graduate and assistant professor at Purdue University, Josh Scacco.<\/p>\n

Also in attendance at the conference were CCT graduates Greg and Mimi Perreault (both PhD candidates at the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism), Katherine Dale (a PhD candidate in communication at The Ohio State University), and Gillian Brooks, a postdoctoral fellow at the Said Business School at Oxford University (PhD Cambridge University, Sociology).<\/p>\n
