{"id":97,"date":"2017-11-05T16:06:48","date_gmt":"2017-11-05T21:06:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.georgetown.edu\/cct\/announcements\/cct-alum-carlos-martinez-talk\/"},"modified":"2023-09-08T14:01:31","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T18:01:31","slug":"cct-alum-carlos-martinez-talk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.georgetown.edu\/2025-02-19_cct\/news-story\/cct-alum-carlos-martinez-talk\/","title":{"rendered":"CCT alum Carlos Martinez met with current students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-left: 5px; margin-right: 5px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.georgetown.edu\/cct\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/240\/2019\/09\/carlos_martinez_2.jpg\" alt=\"CCT Alum Carlos Martinez addressing CCT students\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\">On October 23, 2017,&nbsp;Carlos&nbsp;Martinez (CCT 2010), together with his wife and baby daughter, made a stop at the Car Barn while in town for the Marine Corps Marathon.&nbsp;Carlos&nbsp;gave a presentation to current CCTers about his journey to CCT and his experiences after, highlighting the various influences that shaped the enduring passions in his life.<\/p>\n<p>For&nbsp;Carlos, it was always about a desire to apply his love of journalism and design to projects and research that could produce a positive impact on social issues. It was at CCT that he honed his technical, research and story-telling skills and, as he says, \u201clearned how to learn.\u201d&nbsp;Carlos&nbsp;now works out of his own innovation consultancy,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brodmann52.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brodmann52<\/a>, in Mexico, where projects have included promoting bicycle culture, and developing ethical marketing and operations solutions for small to medium-sized businesses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carlos Martinez (CCT 2010) spoke about how CCT fit into his journey towards becoming an innovation consultant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":287,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"gu_featured_image_display":true,"footnotes":"","_yoast_wpseo_primary_category":5,"_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[6],"class_list":["post-97","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news-story","tag-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Alum Talk | Communication, Culture &amp;
