In the News (and on Mars!): Professor Johnson pens article in the New York Times!

Last week, as NASA’s Perseverence Rover landed on Mars, GU Biology Professor Sarah Stewart Johnson wrote a super interesting article in the New York Times about the potential for Mars’ frozen poles or frigid deserts to harbor evidence of ancient life. She describes how the rover will search for molecular fossils in these barren wastelands, which could provide incredible insight into the origins of life in our solar system. Then, she transitions to the parallels with her own work, like her experiences collecting ancient fossils at McMurdo station in Antarctica.
