Who gets charged?
- Classroom Rental Fees are usually waived for any program or event whose audience is 90+% internal for-credit students, faculty or staff of Georgetown University. They apply when 10+% of the attendees at a program or event are Guests of the University.
- And there is no Classroom Rental Charge for Semester or Summer for-credit classes using Hilltop General Purpose Classrooms.
- Both Semester/Summer for-credit classes and “internal” non-class programs can use all technology built-in to any Hilltop General Purpose Classrooms without charge. But there may be charges if CETS has to bring in any technology to a General Purpose Classoom that exceeds the functionality of the built-in technology.
- Only one Lecture Hall Classroom – Reiss 103 – has voice amplification, with a single wireless lavalier microphone for the instructor. No other classroom has installed voice amplification.
- Usually, if CETS Event Services has to bring in and set up a portable sound system in a classroom for voice amplification, it has to charge the patron for that service – even if it is for some function of a semester class[!]
- CETS Event Services charges all program and event patrons receiving CETS tech support in any Auditorium venue, or through CETS Mobile Services.
- The sole exception to these charges are Fall and Spring Term large classes which the University Registrar schedules into the ICC Auditorium (instead of a General Purpose Classroom).
- All others must pay for Event Services voice-amplfication and/or other services, and CETS may require the submission of GMS Work Tags before it will schedule support for any program or event.
