Veronique Claudio
State: Nebraska
My name is Veronique Claudio. I was born in 1984, in Borger Texas. I am the second generation born in the United States of my family. I am the first to graduate high school, first to receive a Master of Science Degree, first to buy a house, and a car. I grew up in a single parent household and went into the foster care system at ten years old. I grew up fast, I had to make a choice. I chose to live a life of abundance and change.
I began working in the juvenile justice system after I received my associate degree. I worked direct care for five years in a group home, and then thirteen years in juvenile detention. I experienced the Department of Health and Human Services and Child Advocacy. I am now working in administering grants to non-profit organizations and working toward a license to be a mental health professional. I am a proud mother of four. I continue to work to support, speak up, and collaborate with not only professionals in this field, but the people who are most impacted by the system. I stand for equality, justice, and second chances.
