Sage Ruiz-Grady

State: Connecticut

Sage Ruiz-Grady believes that there is power in collective action: the more people speak about their experiences in the youth legal system, the better chance we have to identify and make critical changes to that system. A mother and committed youth advocate, her passion for advocacy and ending the criminalization of youth stems from her own experiences with the juvenile justice system.

Sage has been deeply engaged in this youth advocacy work throughout Connecticut, from being a justice advisor with the Connecticut Justice Alliance for four years, to working with Riverside Academy, Youth First West Coast Collab, and others. With an insightful voice and creative mindset, Sage hopes to provide a unique perspective that will help effect policy change and an end to practices that negatively impact our young people.
