Introducing the BGE Alumni Newsletter

Anna T. Riegel, Ph.D., M.S.
Dear BGE Alumni,
I am thrilled to introduce the inaugural edition of BGE and Beyond, the official alumni newsletter of Georgetown University Biomedical Graduate Education. This newsletter marks an exciting step in strengthening the bonds within our vibrant BGE community, and I’m honored to share it with you.
At BGE, we take immense pride in the achievements of our alumni. Your successes, whether in research, medicine, industry, or beyond, continue to inspire current students and elevate the reputation of Georgetown as a leader in biomedical education. Through this newsletter, we aim to celebrate those accomplishments, keep you updated on program advancements, and provide resources to support your continued growth.
This is also an exciting time for the broader Georgetown community as we welcome Dr. Norman Beauchamp as the new Executive Vice President for Health Sciences. Dr. Beauchamp brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Georgetown, and we look forward to the innovative vision he will bring to advancing health sciences education and research. His appointment reinforces Georgetown’s commitment to excellence and its mission to make a transformative impact in health and biomedical fields.
Inside this and future editions, you’ll find updates on new and ongoing initiatives at BGE, spotlights on alumni who are making a difference in their fields, career development opportunities, and ways to stay engaged with our community. As we approach the 10th anniversary of the Hoyas for Science Scholarship, we are reminded of the transformative impact of your support, and we hope to continue building a legacy that empowers future generations of biomedical leaders.
We’d love to hear from you! Whether you have updates to share, ideas for future newsletters, or questions about getting involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Visit our alumni page or email us directly at biomedgrad@georgetown.edu. Your connection to BGE is invaluable, and we’re here to support you in every way we can.
Thank you for all that you do to carry the spirit of Georgetown forward. I look forward to sharing this journey with you through BGE and Beyond.
