Leave of Absence: Master’s Students
BGE programs follow the BGE Handbook for all types of leaves of absence. Below is an overview of the process for each type.
Leave Types
Personal Leave
- Request Deadline: Submit the form by the end of the Add/Drop period.

Medical Leave

- Please Note: Dr. Jade Sanders (js5048@georgetown.edu or 202-687-0369) from Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) serves BGE students.
Military Leave
- Request Deadline: Contact BGE Academic Affairs as soon as possible after receiving military orders that require you to withdraw from a course or program.

Parental Leave
- Request Deadline: Submit your request to BGE Academic Affairs at least 3 months before your planned leave start date.
