1. [New Pattern] Image Carousel Hero: We know you’ve been waiting for this one! We added a new pattern that allows you to include multiple hero images with overlaid titles and CTAs into one carousel. The carousel autoplays through the slides and can be paused if needed.

Some important notes about this carousel:

This pattern should only be used on the Homepage and Landing pages. We are not supporting this pattern on the other page templates.

We will need to turn on this carousel for your site if you want to use it. Please send a message to webservices@georgetown.edu and let us know the URLs of the 1789 sites you want to use this on.

Once we’ve enabled it, you will access it via the Patterns section of the block inserter (the blue plus sign in the upper-left corner) . Note: You will see additional patterns in that section, but only the Image Carousel Hero is operational at this time.

Patterns are made up of several blocks nested together. To work with this pattern, we recommend opening up the document overview (the three horizontal lines button in the upper-left corner). This will show you the pattern, and you can expand it to show all of its sub-blocks. You will also need to open the inspector panel to replace the placeholder image.

2. [Deprecation] Image Carousel block is now deprecated. We will soon release a revamped version of this block, so we have deprecated the current one. It was very sparingly added to sites by us, so this is unlikely to impact you.
