Introduction to WordPress Training Course

The Introduction to WordPress course is an online, self-enroll, self-paced course on Canvas that will introduce you to WordPress and give you access to a training site so you can become familiar with how the platform works at Georgetown. It’s recommended that all editors take this class, even those with previous WordPress experience.

Here’s how you sign up:

  1. Log in to Canvas 
  2. “Enroll in Course” -> “Go to the Course” -> “Modules” -> “Introduction to WordPress“.

Accessibility

Web accessibility means that all content on your website should be consumable by every visitor, regardless of ability. Many website visitors use assistive technologies like screen readers, magnifiers, and Braille terminals to browse web content.

Accessibility Guide

Web accessibility is governed by a set of guidelines called Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508. At Georgetown, all websites should be AA-compliant. Training Courses

We have two online web accessibility classes are available to any website editors at Georgetown: Web Accessibility for Content Editors and Siteimprove Accessibility: Leveraging the Accessibility Module.
